As we’re sure you’re all aware, On Friday 21st March, The Prime Minister instructed all restaurants, bars, câfés and pubs to close with immediate effect from midnight.
As such, Rupert & Darwin will be closed until further notice.
Throughout this pandemic, we have seen such wonderful support from friends, family and customers. We are sure that this will continue to help us see through these dark times for the industry. We express our heartfelt thanks to all of you – it’s been quite overwhelming.
We would like to reassure everyone that we WILL reopen once all of this has passed, and that until that time comes, not a single member of staff will be made redundant. Our team will be kept on full pay for as long as it takes. There’s lots of work for us to do to prepare for our reopening, whenever that may be, and we will work hard as a team to bring you the best Rupert & Darwin experience as soon as we are allowed!
The Government has stepped in with unprecedented measures to help us as an industry through this, which are greatly appreciated.
We were planning to operate as a takeaway from Monday 23rd March, but until we can clarify further details, we will be completely closed for business. If and when we can start up as a takeaway, be assured we will certainly shout about it!
We simply cannot wait to welcome you all back to Rupert & Darwin in hopefully the near future.
In the meantime, all of you take care of each other. If everyone works together, we will come out on top!
With Kindest Regards,
Rupert & Darwin
